Concept Crew @ Mail Co.

Lately I've been drafting out concepts for characters who will work at Mail Co. Below are all characters (absent of personality) in a boring height range. Really, it's just here to remind me to post better drafted characters later. In the meantime, you should look at my pal KATE'S blog heeeeere! This is our second year having art class together and also probably our last. Her math book sketches murder my sketchbook drawings, go look!

TV Monkey-Mouse!

I wish I had the stamina and dedication to bring him to life as a cartoon character. It would be a cartoon filled with lounge music and very interesting (or simple) co-workers that work at an unusual post office. Monkey would always sleep and do regular boring things but he would encounter all kinds of animal-esque co-workers with bad habits and strange personalities. Right. A cartoon where the protagonist is your average joe and everyone around him is completely unbelieveable or insane.

I stumbled across the Venture Bros' creator's blog the other day and I figured I'd post the link riiiight here. It's nothing new and it seems like everyone already knows about it. I'm sure there are some people that haven't seen it before, though.

Thanks, Danielle!

Apparently, this is the face I make when Chris is making a pizza and I am throwing out trash in an icky, gross, overflowing trashcan. This is the same Chris in the comics you may have seen previously on this sketchblorg.

Kingdom Hearts II

I'm sure everyone's beaten this game but me, partly because I waited a week to play it after my sister got it and partly because I don't play the game like it's my job. It's supposed to be recreation, guys! Beating it isn't a mission. The sequel is disappointingly easy, by the way. I recommend you play it on "Proud Mode" if you haven't started playing it already.

It would be cooler if Roxas used the keyblade instead of Sora.

Imaginary Friend Impersonation Day

I believe there should be a holiday where everyone can impersonate their own imaginary friends without being made fun of. This would be a day of unity because everyone would have something to be embarassed about and nobody would have the right to make fun of anyone. Also, C-Span would be ten times more fun to watch than usual so they could put ads on their network and collect MILLIONS in just one day. Actually, not only C-Span but religious networks would be a hell of a lot more entertaining.

Thanks, John K!

John Kricfalusi, one of my favorite animators of all time (also creator of Ren & Stimpy) has a blog and it is probably thee most inspiring and informative blog I've ever read in my life. I truly feel so enlightened just taking some time to read it. He said he's going to put out a book as a guide for animators and I really look forward to it even though I intend to become an illustration major while I'm at RISD. I was counting the tips on his blog and I stopped counting at about a bajillion.

Expect more updates because it's Spring Break and because it's getting closer to the end of the year. But mostly because John K is, as well as his former Spumco co-workers are, so inspiring.

Gemma, the Great!

much better than this.
